The beginning. . . . . .
"We started simply. In 1933 Bob McLean, our founder, was working multiple irregular jobs, had very little money, and
nothing he could count on for his future. He decided that there was one occupation that had promise. It offered
stability, a regular income, and opportunities. He became a truck driver. He sold his car and used the money as a
down payment on a used 1929 Model A truck chassis. There was no bed or box on the truck so he went to the Port of
Tacoma and gathered free wood from a pier that was being torn down and built a flatbed for his truck. We now had our
first one ton trucks."
From that simple beginning 77 years ago, Interstate Distributor Co. has grown to be the fourth largest privately held
truckload carrier in the United States. Still family owned and operated we have grown to a $600 million dollar company.
With over 3200 employees and contractors, we carry freight throughout 48 states and Canada. Headquartered in Tacoma,
WA we also have manned facilities in Fontana, CA, Lebanon, TN, Findlay, OH, Orland, CA, and Portland, OR.

Temperature Controlled Division Opportunties
We have opportunities in our temperature controlled division where we pay a premium mileage rate for your reefer
experience. Solo drivers operate in the eleven western states and teams are 48 states. We have limited hiring areas
for this fleet and require 6 months experience hauling temperature controlled products.
Reefer Drivers Solo pay $.36 - $.39
Reefer Team Drivers pay $.46 - $.50 (s/p)

Your Authority. Our Freight.
Interstates Contract Carrier Division has been in operation since 1994 and has been a broker since 1989. You will
maintain your company identity but will have the strength of our sales and marketing force to provide consistent year
round freight.
This innovative program is designed for individual owner operators and companies operating multiple trucks whether in
a solo or team environment. We have freight hauling opportunities in our 48 state fleet as well as regional fleets in
the 11 western states and Southwest fleet that runs CA, NV and AZ.
Compensation
80% of gross revenue on all loads
100% of customer paid fuel surcharge
80% of customer paid accessorial charges
